Under 11s Cup Update

By Slough Town Supporters Trust, Oct 26 2018 07:54AM

With less than a week to go until the our first ever National League Under 11s Cup tournament, we're pleased to announce which schools have signed up.

There will be two tournaments, one for girls teams and one for boys/mixed teams, happening at Arbour Park on the afternoon of Thursday 1st November. The winners in each category will go on to represent Slough Town FC at the regional tournament in February/March.

The following schools have entered a team in both tournaments, unless otherwise stated:

Holy Family (boys/mixed only)

The Godolphin Junior Academy

Lynch Hill

Ryvers (boys/mixed only)

St Mary's CofE

Western House Academy (boys/mixed only)

Langley Hall Primary Academy

Montem Academy (girls only)

With 10 boys teams and 8 girls teams, each tournament will split the team's into two groups (each team playing the others in their group once) and the top two teams will progress to the semi finals.

The group draw will take place prior to the matches.

We're also grateful to Westgate school for sending some students to act as referees.

The event will be covered by the local press so keep an eye out for this the following week.

Every participant will receive a medal for being part of the event and the winning teams will walk away with a trophy. The medals and trophies are being paid for from money donated by the late Dave Carpenter.

Teams that emerge from the regional finals will play in the South final, with the North/South winners playing the ultimate final at Wembley in May.

We wish every school the best of luck. We hope that while it will be competitive, it will also be a fun day that the teams will enjoy.
