Board vacancy: Membership Secretary
By Slough Town Supporters Trust, May 19 2020 06:24PM
Following 9 years as membership secretary and around 16 years on the board of the Trust, Richard "Ollie" Hayward has decided to step down from the board of Slough Town Supporters Trust. We would like to place on record our thanks to Ollie for his dedicated service to the Trust, particularly while coordinating the collection of membership payments each year as the Trust has continued to grow. Ollie has been involved with the Trust since around 2004, having previously been chairman of the old Slough Town Supporters Association and a full time secretary of Slough Town Football Club.
This means that the Trust is actively seeking someone to join the board as membership secretary, ideally starting in time the 2020-21 membership year on July 1st.
The position involves collecting membership fees (along with any donations) from those renewing or joining the Trust at the start of each membership year, and keeping a record of members. Most of the work comes during pre-season and the first few weeks of the season when most members join. Most Trust members join at home games, so it is preferable if the person who considers this role would be able to attend home matches from the time the gates open. The ability to use standard computer tools is essential, and previous records will be passed on to assist.
As a board member of the Trust, there are occasional meetings to be attended as and when decisions are required, along with some consultations between board members by email and at matches.
